ok so back up to leaving Kentucky...
got up reeeally early, peeked out the second-story window of couchsurfing house to backyard below and...snow!!
only on the vertical slopes of the yard, but definitely white patches!!
I grab my stuff, leave my TX surprises in the kitchen and ease out the front door
---------->
no snow!! what?!?
i for sure saw snow in the backyard from the window
ok, so it was dark, i'd just woken up, and may have been too optimistic
i reeeeally wanted to go look in the backyard
i mean, snow has to stop somewhere, right?
but that would have been a little too snoopy/weird, so ixnay on that idea
onward!
stopped at McD's for yummy and cheap traveling coffee
listened to NPR and temporarily felt smart
ok NPR is boring, so I hung out on the seek button
(no CDs, I think radio is more like fate)
ya know how highways are cut out of the hills, so there are rock walls on the sides? like in austin?
the whooooooole way thru West Virginia and Eastern Real Virginia (that must get confusing, ya know?), there were these little sparkly frozen waterfalls clinging to the sides of the rock walls
ice! and it's not in my freezer! or beer chest! it's outside! it's amazing!
